Lincoln Longwool

Welcome to Cross Wind Farm, LLC. Our farm is located in an agricultural community in the central part of Michigan. We maintain a select flock of white and natural colored Bluefaced Leicester sheep, Lincoln Longwool sheep, Angora goats, Angora rabbits, a few guard llamas, and offer a variety of fiber related products at our online store.

Our Bluefaced Leicester flock is certified in the SFCP (Scrapie Flock Certification Program) and registered through the Bluefaced Leicester Union. Our Lincoln Longwool sheep and Angora goats make up our newest flock and will be part of the SFCP working its way up to the certified status. Bluefaced Leicester and Lincoln Longwool sheep play a key role in areas of commercial production, meat, and wool.

BFL and Lincoln Longwool sires used for cross breeding improve the performance in their progeny including larger size, higher lambing percentages, improved wool, better milk production, and improved lamb vigor. BFL and Lincoln ewes are excellent mothers and good milk producers. BFL wool combines length and luster with a lovely softness, and Lincoln wool combines length, luster, and tensile strength. By itself BFL and Lincoln wool are fabulous to work with and provide an excellent foundation when blending with other wool or exotic fibers.
