Steve & Carol Densmore
After growing up in farm country on opposite sides of the state, Steve and Carol continue their life long desire to farm. Steve has many years of livestock experience, having grown up on a dairy farm; and Carol grew up on a farm that raised pigs and chickens, boarded horses, and chased cattle from the adjacent farm.

Sheep were a natural choice because of Carol's insatiable love of fiber and fiber animals. And the wool complements the fiber she gets from her Angora rabbits, guard llamas, and any other fleeces she picks up throughout her travels. Steve keeps busy farming oodles of acres of hay and maintaining his fleet of tractors.
The approach at Cross Wind Farm is to breed Bluefaced Leicester sheep for wool, conformation, and disposition. The sheep are bred for soundness and manageability, while producing a beautiful, marketable fleece. Ewe lambs retained as replacements are not bred until they are yearlings. They enjoy a full year of growing and doing the things lambs like to do! Our goal is to keep select ewes even after their breeding career so they can grow fleece without the stress of pregnancy and lambing. Our rams are selected for fleece characteristics and temperament. We only keep mellow fellows that have a good disposition!
