About Me

Carol Densmore

Carol Densmore - Spinner, Knitter, Fiber-fanatic!

Greetings! I'm one of those people who needs to know the who, what, when, where, why, and how about things. And when it comes to things I'm passionate about, like fiber, I have to go to the source.

That's where my wooly creatures with fuzzy features come in. My flock of Bluefaced Leicester sheep, small herd of alpacas, and a few guard llamas feed my fiber fetish and answer the endless questions I have about fiber blending, fiber colors, the affects of nutrition/health on fiber quality, and so on and so on.

To me, learning is a life long venture...and I never stop. I've attended many workshops and learned from experienced spinners, knitters, felters, shepherds and veterinarians. This helps me to continually refine my style and technique so that I can offer unique fiber products and breed and raise healthy, happy fiber animals.

In fact, this year I went north with my spinning wheel in tow and joined the Master Spinner Program at Olds College in Alberta, Canada. This six-year venture includes in depth skills development, research studies, and independent projects in hand spinning of all major fibers and yarns, and the end use of spun yarns. So bookmark my website and keep coming back to see what's new!
