Fiber Preparation
If you’re ready to discover the wonders of raw fiber and learn how to get it ready to spin or felt, this topic will get you there. Learn how to wash, card, comb, and flick card wool to prepare it for spinning. We’ll work with wool locks and portions of fleeces. |

Breeds Study
Learn how wool from different sheep breeds produce different textures, different spinning techniques, and different uses. Various breeds will be analyzed, then washed, spun, and plied. We’ll study fine wool, medium wool, long wool, and coarse wool. Participants will put together a binder of the breeds studied to use as a reference guide. |

Fiber Blending – No End To The Blend!
Add dimension and texture to your yarn or other fiber projects. Through demonstration and hands-on blending, participants will learn to make new colors and new textures using wool, alpaca, llama, silk, angora, and more. During this workshop we’ll use a drum carder, blending hackle, combs, hand cards, and a flick carder. |
